Established in 2022, the Graduate Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology (GIMT) at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology is the research institute that encompasses the fields of Industrial Data Science, Smart Manufacturing and Operations, Robotics Engineering and Automation Technology. As one of the leading academic units, the institute currently provides both PhD and Master programs in a hope to cultivate future engineers and leaders of domestic industries. GIMT offers multidisciplinary courses such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligent, Optimization, Robotics Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics Integration to respond to the upgrading demand of domestic high-tech and manufacturing industries.

GIMT promotes the industrial-academia collaboration with the industry, and has been working closely with some well-known high-tech corporations, such as TSMC, and HIWIN. Also, the faculty members of GIMT host or participate multiple institute-university cooperative research projects, and government research programs. Based on the practical research and course works, GIMT’s Students are required to develop versatile skill sets that can solve practical problems faced by the industry, so that they can acquire problem solving skills and gain more practical experiences. GIMT also encourages engineers who have working experiences to join the study program.
